According to the Danish Health Authority’s guidelines, we are obliged to follow up on the treatment with addictive medications with the aim of limiting and controlling their use.
Patients receiving addictive medication should be aware of the following:
- Prescription renewals are only done by personal attendance during a consultation with the doctor or staff.
- At least every 3 months for morphine-like medication (e.g. Morfin, Contalgin, Tramadol, etc), every month for sedatives / benzodiazepines (e.g. Oxapaz, Alprox, sleeping pills etc), and every 3 or 6 months for centrally acting stimulants (e.g., ADHD medication, Ritalin etc).
We recommend that you book an appointment for prescription renewal well in advance!
